Welcome back friends, to another edition of The Breakdown.

Reading Week is nearly here, which means midterms are likely right around the corner for a good portion of us. I was lucky enough to have written a midterm last week already, so I’ve got a pretty light school schedule ahead of me for the next little while which is good… more time for musical thangs!

Today’s content comes from: Dzeko & TorresNorthend StereotroniqueRYBATYPE and one of my ultimate favourites, Black Tiger Sex Machine.

Dzeko & Torres

Kicking things off things right…we’ve got some new stuff from Dzeko & Torres.

To put it simply, these boys are busy. They’ve just reached 16k fans on Facebook and are showing no signs of slowing down. They’ve just recently announced their presence at this year’s Tomorrowland and David Guetta has been supporting their productions lately. Things are good.

David Guetta recently premiered their newest track, AMP, on his ever-popular radio show.  The incredibly danceable track is backed by a gritty, almost-growling bass line and is full of house vibes.  Subtle and minimal synth work within this production work perfectly to create a dancefloor slayer. With the help of an insane synth leading the way through the breakdown, the energy and intensity rarely diminishes. It’s been rumoured that this track may be given away as a free download, but you’ll have to wait and see.  Keep your eyes locked on Dzeko & Torres. You won’t want to miss this release.

Have a listen below and be on the look-out for the release.

Dzeko & Torres EP. 7

Also from Dzeko & Torres; we’ve got the latest edition of their RAVE’N Podcast with a guest mix from fellow Toronto DJ/Producer, Autoerotique. Stuffed full of original productions, clever remixes, and a couple exclusives, these podcasts have been garnering some serious attention since their debut a few weeks back. This is the perfect addition to your current studying habits.

Reverence - Stereotronique & Northend

I’m a bit behind on this release, but better late than never.

Northend Stereotronique have both been featured on The Breakdown in previous editions, but it’s been some time since we’ve shown them some love.

Also premiered on David Guetta‘s radio show, Reverence is a feel-good, progressive house gem that’ll warm your heart even on the coldest of days. Following a simplistic intro of synth and piano leads, inviting vocals shine through the breakdown. Following a subtle synth lead and pitchy build, we’re faced with a hands-in-the-air, stadium-ready production full of bright synths, well-timed stops and subtle teases of arpped guitar.

Loving The Vibe - Rybatype

Up next, we’ve got a new single from a relatively unknown producer, RYBATYPE.

I don’t normally feature artists who aren’t Canadian, but I’ve been know to make exceptions when the release is part of a Canadian label and that’s what we’ve got happening right here.

Just released on Marc Rémillard‘s label, Royal Fetish Recordings, Loving The Vibe is exactly what I’m doing right now. Warped vocals, a simple (yet full of swagger) drum arrangement, and a buzzing bass line make up the intro. Following a quick vocal build, we’re thrust into laser mayhem, complete with growls. This one is HUGE!

Midnight Violence - BTSM

Last, but certainly not least, we’ve got a free download from Black Tiger Sex Machine courtesy of their Free Flesh Wednesdays.

I am yet to be disappointed by a release that comes from the Kannibalen Records camp and today is definitely not the day.

I was lucky enough to hear an early, pre-mastered version of Midnight Violence last week and I’ve been stupid excited ever since. Following an intro comprised of simple drum arrangements, ominous keys, and incredible synths that tease before coming to a winding halt at the break, it’s not long before we find ourselves raving to a drop full of gritty synths with perhaps an acidy influence. The second drop sees some increased energy with an arpped synth top line. GET VIOLENT!
